Create, reschedule and cancel bookings

Use existing same-day availability and capacity rules for API bookings.

Create a booking through entry creation

POST /waitlist/entries with isBooking: true and scheduledFor creates a booking. Use a valid ISO 8601 timestamp with a UTC offset. Read the business time zone and line booking configuration first.

Bookings use the same business-day window, opening hours, slot interval and capacity rules as the app. The API does not extend the public booking window. A booking can become unavailable between discovery and creation; handle the returned conflict.

Reschedule using the latest version

Look up the entry first. POST /bookings/{entryId}/reschedule with scheduledFor and expectedVersion, plus Idempotency-Key. The selected time must still meet availability rules. On a conflict, reload and ask the source workflow to choose another valid time.

Cancel an active booking

POST /bookings/{entryId}/cancel with expectedStatus, expectedVersion and an optional reason. Include Idempotency-Key. Cancellation follows the entry’s transition rules and emits a booking cancellation event when the booking changes.

Lookup uses the waitlist entry ID, including for bookings. The returned bookingId is related metadata; do not substitute it into an entry route.
